Welcome back to Stuff in a Powder Puff. I am very excited to be opening my J.Cat Beauty Lip vault products and trying them out! I got the whole vault for $26.00, about $11.00 off the combined retail price. Spiffy!
Up first, I have the Lipitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain in Peekaboob. The unsavory name aside, I am a bit dubious about this product. I’ve never tried a lip stain before. This product retails at $5.99 ($14.26/oz). This lip product was not sealed in the package. That could have been a disaster. This product is very wet. But it is also very thick so there was no leaking. Yay! It smells ever so slightly like peppermint. It feels very nice but doesn’t dry very fast. I hope this is not supposed to be a gloss. The pigmentation is very strong with this product. I was not expecting that. The applicator is very long and flat so I’m not sure how this is going to work out.
This is the Matte Lipstick Diary in the shade Am I Ready? This retails at $4.99 ($41.58/oz). This product doesn’t have a completely obscene name but many of the shades in this line are not PG rated. Am I the only one that finds this kind of naming to be distasteful? Anyway this was the only product sealed inside the package. It was shrink-wrapped tightly. It smells like fruit! I can’t say that it dries totally matte but it is a bit more matte than a regular cream lipstick.
Pout-Holic Lipsticks in Flashback Friday and Like for Like look to be decent cream lipsticks for $4.99 ($40.90/oz). The line has some wild colors and all the names are social media oriented. I can live with that. Flashback Friday is a pinkish purple that I may not be able to pull off but Like for Like is a coral-like pink that might be workable depending on the day. Um… Like for Like looks orange in the tube (to me) but doesn’t swatch like that. Thankfully. These don’t smell like anything.
This set also came with 2 Twist and Kiss Hydrating Lip Balms in the shades Eskimo Kiss and Butterfly Kiss. These retail at $4.99 ($35.64/oz) and they are supposed to be hydrating tinted lip balms. They feel very soft. Surprisingly, the pigmentation is strong! Eskimo Kiss is a peach shade that smells like chocolate (seriously) while Butterfly Kiss is a bright pink that smells like chemicals.
Finally, this set came with 2 Roll It Up Auto Lip Liners. These are in the shades Electric Crimson and Amaranth. They retail for $2.99 ($299.00/oz). If these perform anything like the Roll It Up Auto Eye Liners, I will be a very happy girl. I expected these to be shrink-wrapped but they were not. They don’t have any smell at all. No sharpeners that I can find but you can’t win them all I guess.
Swatches coming at ya in the next post!
